NOTES FOR PARENTS:

WISH LIST: Small toys for treasure chest

• Parents, please do not forget you write your child’s name on his/her snack baggie. Also, remind your child to put their library book in their backpack for library on Wednesday. 

• THINGS TO WORK ON AT HOME: Please practice reciting your birthday and phone number. Also start learning to tie your shoes. These will all be assessed this trimester.

ASLS INFORMATION OPEN HOUSE: Saturday, January 28th is our annual information day here at Abiding Savior. This is a wonderful opportunity to see your child’s classroom for next year. You can ask questions, get to know the teacher, and see samples of student work. This event is open to current families and new families interested in our school.

SINGING IN CHURCH: We will be singing at the 9:30 am church service on Sunday, February 12. Mark this date on your calendar. A note will be sent home as we get closer to the date.

• 100th Day and Valentine’s Party: These two celebrations happen to be on the same day of school this year. Please mark your calendars as we will need parents to volunteer to help during the day.

Sunday, February 12 – Singing in church at 9:30 am

EVERY NIGHT:

*Practice sight words: memorize and write them for practice

*Study memory verse

*Practice identifying coins: penny, nickel, and dime

*Read a book: Talk about the author and illustrator, and ask your child to retell their favorite part of the book. In addition, this is a good opportunity to look for sight words.
